The Foodhall required a series of lighting solutions to suit different times of the day. A ‘starburst’ layout fans from the central escalator well. The view from the balcony of the main entrance reveals the stunning sushi bar below, where narrow beams of light punch down to the counter to create drama.
Inset into the perimeter are miniature low-voltage luminaires;

these are adjusted over glass shelves and displays. The space is further enhanced by cool fluorescent tubes that wash the curved walls and by the application of dichroic glass filters that differentiate the merchandise and mirror the curved chiller cabinets.
