The Westfield London store offers customers an unrivalled M&S shopping experience.
The scheme includes a number of new design features in line with Plan A, M&S’ ‘eco’ plan - most notably a state-of-the-art heliostat. Located on the roof, this draws light down through the atrium, reducing the need for artificial lighting while also creating decorative effects.
Sunlight is reflected from the 2.5m2 heliostat on to secondary mirrors. Four are angled to strike prismatic reflectors located
on the escalators - these reflect and refract sunlight, creating rainbows and white light that shimmer on to the walls and floor. Further mirrors direct dappled light on to the ground floor.
