Marks and Spencer - Grafton Street, Dublin

Retail lighting Marks and Spencer - Grafton Street
The Marks & Spencer in Grafton Street, Dublin is a flagship store. The building is circa 19th century.

Its age and features created many challenges. These included: a coffered ceiling with ornate mouldings, numerous columns, different ceiling heights and varying floor levels. The power consumption for the store was a limited capacity.

A continuous linear recessed fluorescent system was used. This was custom-made to fit into each offer. To create a common language, in areas of the store with flat ceilings the same approach was used with the linear fittings mounted in the ceiling. The fittings give brightness to the ceiling and increase the appearance of the ceiling height. Accent lighting was supplied by recessed adjustable spotlights.
