Retail lighting Marks & Spencer - Bournemouth
Bournemouth is the first of Marks & Spencer’s ‘Green Stores’.

General lighting levels were reduced from 1000 to 850 lux and lamp wattages in accent fittings were reduced to 35W CDM-T. This represents a 20 per cent reduction in the energy used to light the store.

Displacement ventilation prompted the use of a rafted ceiling, with surface mounted fittings running between the rafts. The space looks stunning, with dashed lines running throughout the store.

The combination of efficient fittings and clever design has resulted in a solution that offers M&S the next step towards sustainability in retail design.
