| Following the successful implementation of the “Store of the Future” remodels at Basingstoke & Speke, M&S appointed LAPD to roll out the lighting design across it’s fleet of stores. |
Ceiling conditions vary greatly and one condition is the existing “D11” solution, big floating gondola’s of light, providing up and downlighting in each store. The challenge was to create a replacement product, whilst retaining the generic roll out theme. |
|
Using linear T5 fluorescents, LAPD created a suite of products called Light Apparatus (LA for short). These fittings also have CDM-T accent lighting and 3 circuit track inserts with the intention of creating centers of light and therefore reducing additional lighting clutter at ceiling level. |
There is slightly different solution for the Foodhall areas to all other GM areas. The distinction is made by the need to have a greater level of flexibility of spotlighting to ensure that the food cases and end’s of aisles are comfortably illuminated. A greater amount of 3 circuit track is installed in to the Foodhall products and track mounted spotlights are used. | |
| The GM products have an CDM-T accent downlight in each corner of the product, which provides an even accent lighting grid across each store. Track is also present in these fittings to have the flexibility of using additional accent lighting in key areas, such as mannequins, or on to graphic walls. | Designed by LAPD, the concepts have now been engineered by Profile Lighting Services and are being supplied to stores nationally. | |
