| Working with Ian Ritchie Architects, Street Crane
Express and La Conch Lighting, LAPD engineered a lighting concept
for implementation within the Spire, Dublin . This involved lighting
the base of the Spire, the mid-point aviation warning lighting and
the architectural and aviation lighting mounted within the very top
section of the Spire. |
The lighting units at the top of the Spire integrate with an electrically driven winch. This allows for raising and lowering to access the fittings. Each length is attached to the next using a live hinge, enabling the system to sway with the natural movement of the entire structure in the wind. |
