| The Centre of Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence is primarily an education centre for Ford’s junior workforce. Constructed over three phases, the centre comprises mechanical workshops, teacher training rooms, restaurants, a crèche, a hotel and a library, plus auditorium pods that break through the front facade. |
The internal street runs the entire length of Phase 1 & 2. Custom suspended twin gullwing reflectors were designed by LAPD. They use the existing manufacturer’s components to create a unique solution for this double height space. | |
| To ensure the ease of transition from the outside to within, the design includes a replication of the exterior scheme. Emergency lighting levels are provided by miniature low voltage floods fitted to the base of the pendant. | Further contribution is delivered from beneath the cantilevered walkway. | |
