Brunel Retail Park

Lighting and Street furniture specialists’ Woodhouse have worked in conjunction with lighting designers LAPD to create two stylish, yet individual, commercial developments that are proving very successful.

Woodhouse initially invited LAPD to join the project at Brunel, in 2004., as product design consultants for the park entrance totem and tenant banners.  They produced a concept and later detailed design for the entrance banners in a drum shape.

These very large drums are internally illuminated galvanized steel, with a wire mesh and sheet stainless steel cladding.    As the job progressed LAPD worked with Woodhouse to develop the lighting scheme design, which resulted in the design of a new light stack luminaire, which was complimentary to the drum banner design, which were used as orientation markers and provide ambient illumination.

These continue the theme of the drum banners but have a diameter of 160mm and varying heights ranging from 1.5m to 4m.  The top 2/3rd’s are illuminated behind the same stainless steel mesh and with an equally high quality finish.    These custom-made products have given an easily recognised identity to the retail park, inviting customers and passing trade.
