Brunel Retail Park
Lighting and Street furniture specialists’ Woodhouse have worked in conjunction with lighting designers LAPD to create two stylish, yet individual, commercial developments that are proving very successful. |
Woodhouse initially invited LAPD to join the project at Brunel, in 2004., as product design consultants for the park entrance totem and tenant banners. They produced a concept and later detailed design for the entrance banners in a drum shape. | |
| These very large drums are internally illuminated galvanized steel, with a wire mesh and sheet stainless steel cladding. | As the job progressed LAPD worked with Woodhouse to develop the lighting scheme design, which resulted in the design of a new light stack luminaire, which was complimentary to the drum banner design, which were used as orientation markers and provide ambient illumination. | |
| These continue the theme of the drum banners but have a diameter of 160mm and varying heights ranging from 1.5m to 4m. The top 2/3rd’s are illuminated behind the same stainless steel mesh and with an equally high quality finish. | These custom-made products have given an easily recognised identity to the retail park, inviting customers and passing trade. | |
