| A generous donation by Toni & Guy hairdressers enabled this children’s ward to be refurbished. An important objective for the refurbishment was to create a sense of fun and light-heartedness throughout the ward. This began with the Nurse’s station at the entrance. | LAPD were commissioned to design and oversee the construction of this Nurse’s station. The desk is illuminated internally with LEDs supplied by Colourline from Crescent Lighting. | |

| Its construction uses 20mm thick 3-ply beech laminate with the front faces formed from Satinice acrylic sheets to diffuse the light within. The system is controlled by a simple wall plate mounted on the nurse’s side of the desk. | The lighting can be held on a static colour, but is also programmed to run a series of colour-changing sequences. The desk is DDA compliant, with a lowered section to enable wheelchair access. | |
