Nurses' Station - Toni & Guy Children's Ward
Client: King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
A donation from Toni & Guy hairdressers enabled this children’s ward to be refurbished. An important objective was to create a sense of fun throughout the ward, starting at the entrance with the nurses’ station.
Designed by LAPD, the desk is internally lit with LEDs. The front face is formed from acrylic sheets, which diffuse the light. This can be held on a static colour, but is also programmed to run a series of colour-changing sequences.
The system is controlled by a simple wall-plate mounted on the side of the desk.
