Client: The Ford Motor Company
The Centre of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence is an education centre for Ford. It comprises mechanical workshops, training rooms, restaurants, a crèche, a hotel and a library, plus auditorium pods that break through the front façade.
Custom-made suspended twin gullwing reflectors, designed by LAPD, run the length of the double-height internal street. To ensure ease of transition from the outside,

the design of the lights replicates the exterior scheme. Emergency lighting levels are provided by miniature low-voltage floodlights fitted to the base of the pendants, while additional lighting is delivered from beneath the cantilevered walkway.
