Diverse lighting design
Immigration Hall, Birmingham International Airport
Working closely with the architect, LAPD developed a linear lighting solution for the Immigration Hall at Birmingham International Airport.
A relatively high level of light allows passengers to check passports and other documents. Linear fluorescent fittings provide punctuation to the ceiling and a comfortable, even covering of light. The lighting works in combination with the rafts and slots of the planked ceiling to guide people towards the Passport Control desks at the back of the Hall.
Care was taken to ensure that the lighting solution assisted the airport’s stringent security requirements
